Your makeup is off your face by noon. Your hair is just a puff of frizz. It’s summer, indeed. Summer is always such a blast, but you’re out and about, taking pictures, and seeing loved ones. You wanna look good! You should have no beauty worries this summer, so here are a few tips to help keep your summer look fresh and easy!
- Your hair’s health can take a beating from the sun, sand, and water, especially if your hair is colored. Use plenty of leave-in conditioner to protect your strands from the sun.
- I see a wide-brimmed hat as an essential summer accessory, so add one to your wardrobe as well. The hat will protect your hair (and your face) from the sun’s rays and help keep it healthy and protect color.
- If you do go swimming in a pool, wash your hair not too long after you leave the pool. This will help rinse out chlorine before it takes a hold of your hair.
- To fight frizz, slather on an anti-frizz serum to help keep your hair in place and protect it from humidity.
It’s the worst when you look in the mirror at your patio dinner and see your eyes ringed by eye makeup and where is the lipstick!? How can you get makeup to stay and also look fresh on hot days?
- Foundation and primer can be underrated. These help you create a base that helps makeup hold its place. One of my favorite face primers is made by 100% Pure.
- Don’t go too heavy on the makeup overall. The more you have on, the more likely it will be to fade away. Keep the application light so it’ll be less likely to crease. Lighten up the eye makeup and lipstick as well since it’ll be more noticeable if your red lips or smokey eye gets smudged by your “glisten.”
- Lighten up on your face makeup as well. Try a tinted moisturizer or BB or CC cream to keep things light. They are also easier to touch up or reapply.
Don’t let beauty woes keep you down this summer. Lighten up and keep the focus on your natural beauty. Have so much fun this summer, and don’t let your makeup or hair cramp your fun! For other tips about how to keep beautiful all year, check out my article on seasonal skincare.
