Gotta love those green smoothies, but some days you want to put a little sass to it! Enters the Kickin’ Green Smoothie!!
A few ingredients that make this smoothie a powerhouse.
You of course have your greens for nutrients. Dairy-free milk will pack a little protein (un-sweetened of course). The avocado bring some monounsaturated fats to the table, which means they are the healthy kind. **Remember fat doesn’t make you fat!! Sugar is usually the culprit – hints the unsweetened dairy-free milk. The spice that gives this smoothie a “kick” is the cayenne pepper, which will reeve that metabolism. Then the ginger, to help aid your digestion.
Kickin’ Green Smoothie
1 1/2 c dairy free milk (unsweetened)
1 c mixed greens
1/4 c berries
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon ginger root
1 tablespoon raw local honey or stevia to taste
1 tablespoon flax seeds
Dash Cayenne peper
Juice from 1 lemon
Place all ingredients in high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Start with a low speed and work your way up to high for a smoothie finish. Enjoy!!
