7 Ways to Pamper Yourself for Valentine’s Day

7 Ways to Pamper Yourself for Valentine’s Day

Whether you are in a relationship or single, we all deserve to treat ourselves! You work hard and do your best all the time, and you definitely have a reason to pamper yourself and enjoy your life. What better day to do this than Valentine’s Day? You may have plans or you may not, but definitely take time to thank yourself and give yourself some love!

  1. Chocolate, of course: One of my favorite obsessions is chocolate, and during Valentine’s Day, chocolate is my sexy sweet of choice. Give yourself the gift of chocolate and whip up a homemade chocolate recipe for yourself (and maybe your sweetie, if you’re willing to share). My recipes for Healthy Homemade Chocolates and the Coconut Chocolate Smoothie Bowl are great ways to indulge your sweet tooth a bit while not wrecking your healthy diet. They also can look super pretty wrapped up or served in a cute bowl for dessert after a homemade meal!
  2. Buy something you WANT: When I’m budgeting, I have to often separate things that I want and things that I need. Usually, the things we want take a backseat but NOT TODAY! Stroll through your favorite store or scroll on your computer to find something that’s been lurking in your wishlist or you’ve been eyeing for a while. Even better: plan ahead and have it arrive or go buy it on Valentine’s Day so you’ll get the real benefit of joy on the actual day. Though I’m sure you have plenty of ideas, you can check out my gift list here to get some inspiration.

  3. Get yourself flowers: There’s nothing like fresh flowers! I love when I grab some fresh cuts from Trader Joe’s, arrange them in a pretty vase, and get to smell them every time I pass by them. You can either literally send them to yourself from a florist or another flower mail-service or just pick some up at the store. 4. Try something new: Confession: I have been really wanting to go to one of those wine and painting classes with some friends and just spend the evening chatting and creating something really pretty for myself. However, I always make up excuses and think that I don’t have time to go. Today is a great day to get rid of excuses and do what you want anyway. This could mean going to a painting or pottery session, trying out a new workout you’ve been looking into, or cooking a new dish. This will automatically make the day more special, even if it is just a small change.

  5. At-Home Spa Time: You don’t have to spend all your money at a spa to get the just-got-back-from-the-spa-and-lunch look. Draw up a bath (maybe an Epsom salt bath for good health), play some relaxing music, and light some candles. Paint your fingers and toes a fun new shade. Maybe slather on a homemade scrub to polish your skin to glow. Eat a fresh lunch or dinner and just relax for a few hours (I like something warm like Butternut Squash Soup). Your spa time doesn’t have to take up the whole day, but it certainly can be adjusted to your time. Just make sure you feel fresher and more relaxed when you step out of your home spa!
  6. Celebrate Your Loved Ones: Valentine’s Day provides us a great chance to make someone smile with a little gesture of sweetness. If you’re like me, I love the feeling I get when I make someone else’s day. If you want to take some time to give back, spend a little time dedicated to your loved ones. Make or write up a card for a friend or family member. Bake up some sweets for your coworkers and family. If you’re crafty, make a sweet little DIY for someone who would love a little boost. You can even volunteer at a homeless shelter or a nursing home.

  7. Write a love-letter to yourself: Take a little time to either write down a entry in your journal or literally write a letter telling yourself the great things about you! Think of all the qualities that make you special and unique, and think about all the qualities people love about you. Jot them down. This can be as basic as a list or as elaborate as using your best handwriting on your best stationary, but either way you get the benefits of treating yourself to a love letter from the person who matters most!Love letter to Yourself- www.JuliaNicholson.com

Now, go out there (or stay home) and treat yourself for V-Day! You deserve it!
